How to play
Tournament scoring
How goals, games, and group-stage ties are scored.
Goals
- 1 point: a goal scored while one or more players from the scoring team are in their defensive half.
- 2 points: a goal scored while every player on the scoring team, including the SK, is in the attacking half.
- The referee indicates the value of each goal with a hand signal or a verbal call.
Games
- The winner is the team with the most points scored.
- The largest goal differential recorded for a game is 7 points. Example: 11-2 is recorded as 9-2.
- 3 points for a win in regulation time.
- 2 points for a PK SHOOTOUT win after a tie in regulation.
- 1 point for a PK SHOOTOUT loss after a tie in regulation.
- Every tied game is decided by a PK SHOOTOUT. It ends when one team scores and the other misses in the same round (sudden death).
Group stage tie breakers
- If teams are tied on points after the group stage, use these in order.
- 1. Most wins in regulation time. PK SHOOTOUT wins do not count.
- 2. Best goal differential, using the recorded scores (goals scored minus goals conceded).
- 3. Fewest goals conceded.
- 4. Coin toss.
